Data Formats

All data of the IRPUD European transport network database are basically available in two standard formats: as ArcInfo coverages (Vers. 8) or in ASCII format.

The ArcInfo format will contain the entire base networks, whereas the ASCII file formats will contain only the 'strategic' parts of the network, which are subsets of the total networks including the so called 'Trans European Transportation Networks' defined by the European Commission and the "TINA Networks" defined by the TINA secretariat.

A database description is available for all data layer and data formats. In case of the ArcInfo coverages, the metadata are directly included in the coverages as well.

Optionally, all data layer are available in ArcInfo Vers. 8 geodatabase format. The geodatabase contains all data layer mentioned with the entire base networks.
